We often hit across a gigantic task of connecting your android device to your laptops to extract few data. Specially, you are not an android developer it is as good as moving a mountain!
I’ve seen security folks (few), service engineers, marketing guys struggling in this aspect …Some one heard your pain point !
We have the “webadb” now. I felt it is easy, better …
Let’s get started !
Visit the settings on your chrome browser:
chrome://flags/#new-usb-backend
And Enable
Now open a new chrome browser tab and visit the URL: https://app.webadb.com/#/
You will see the following screen on this page
Now connect your Android phone with “USB debugging” set to “On” to this computer using a USB cable. [Refer link for more details]
As detailed in the instructions, make sure there is no adb service active on the device. This you will see if you already have android sdk tools or Android studio already installed on your computer. If you are running it for the first time, don’t bother!!
Now, “add a device”.
Select, the device showing in the popup. In my case it is “pixel3”
Now, click on “Connect” button (assuming you have already connected your device to computer using USB cable and above settings).
Boom !!!!
You are connected!!!!
You can look at device details through “Device Info”
Connect adb over wifi (out of scope for this)
Interactive shell right in your web browser
Browse your phone’s file system ( Wow !!!! can’t get better)
Install apps
Screen Capture (Exciting !)
Automatic reference to APK at a single click on your browser!!!
It's great to look at it ! As mentioned it is in preview mode ! Give it a shot !
