Blockchain Association of Kenya (BAK)
Accelerating the adoption of blockchain technology in Kenya.
Margaret Njeri Ngigi 's journey into Web3 was sparked by the desire to diversify her income. But the universe had better plans.?
She shared with us her experiences and learnings from her acclaimed ‘Murky Waters' exhibition which was a testament to her artistic vision and storytelling prowess.?
About me: A visual artist. Championing for creators to use innovative tools in this digital renaissance. I am an island girl, but I can't swim.
How I got started: I got into Web3 in November 2021 to diversify my income as an artist using NFTs. I found my way into the ecosystem through many great people that I met in the Kenya NFT Community on Twitter.
Best project you’ve worked on so far: My ‘Murky Waters’ series
Which NFT marketplace would you recommend or see growth in 2024? Most of us have our eyes on Bitcoin NFTs, I think ‘Gamma’ will be one of the marketplaces that’s promising.
Biggest lesson from your art exhibition in 2023:??
A big lesson from my show is that we need ways for collectors to collect pieces that don’t function as interior design pieces only.??
I've come to appreciate NFTs because collectors can connect with pieces, collect them, and store them digitally. They are also not limited to a single display format which pushes the boundaries of what artists can create and what collectors can collect, in turn shaping our industry.
Fill in the blank: (Ninjaalerts) is the most promising Web3 project
If you had to live a TV show, which one would it be?
Tough Question. It would be a specific episode of ‘Black Mirror’ season 5 - San Junipero.
