How might we use the power of web3 in our business?
It’s a loaded question we’re often asked at my agency.
Porter’s value chain (below) first described in 1985, encapsulated a set of activities organizations carry out to create value for their customers.
It is a tool familiar to business school graduates and senior executives alike.
As such, it gives us a solid foundation with which to answer the above-mentioned question, and help organizations better adapt their business models to web3.
The Web3 Value Chain
In?this ebook?we provide a working model for what we’re calling the?web3 value chain?(above), adapted from Porter’s, with some minor changes.
We also elaborate on 50 use cases of web3 across the entire value chain, to give decision-makers at centralized organizations, and community members at decentralized organizations, a little additional guidance by way of examples, case studies, and tools.
The value chain presented is version 0.1, and we’ve proposed it for the purpose of generating discussion, feedback, and criticism. It will no doubt evolve along with the rapid evolution of all things web3 over the next few years.
