Web3 Unlocked 003: Tesla Robot, Meta Ai Release, Bitcoin Explained, Redesign your home interior with Ai & Micheal Jackson Resurrected with Ai
Welcome to another week of Web3 Unlocked: The weekly recap of the most valuable content on Web3, Business, Branding, AI, Automation, Entrepreneurship, Lifestyle Design and more.
Last week we covered. International NFT Day & The 5 Biggest NFT Projects You Should Know About and I also shared an AI tool that creates product ads in under 2 min. You can read that article here. I also wrote this article: What are NFTs: A Beginners Guide for Non-Techies to go over the basics of NFTs.
Elon Musk & Tesla unveiled a robot, Meta enters the Text-to-Video Ai space, The best simple guide to Bitcoin, Design your room with Ai in minutes & let’s see what some of the most famous dead celebrities would look like if they were alive today.
Elon Musk & Tesla 's $20k Robot
Telsa unveiled a robot at their Tesla AI Day 2022 event
What’s most interesting about this is not the technology. There are far more interesting robotics in this space see Boston Dynamics Robot doing parkour.
The most exciting part of this reveal is the cost. Telsa is stating that it would cost $20k and when compared to Boston Dynamics, Robot Dog which is reportedly costing $75k. This has the potential to bring robotics to a broader market.
For consumers, I don’t think we’ll be at the point of a C3PO just yet. But the idea of having a robot as part of large enterprises or seeing more through businesses is something I expect to see more of over the next few years.
I would relate this transition to current customer self-check-outs. This technology was brought in and now it is pretty commonplace in large supermarkets.
Would it be strange to see a Tesla robot stack the shelves in Asda ? Sure initially, but I think over time this would become more common and the novelty would disappear. A few months ago I saw a robot roaming around Singapore airport. A nighttime robot shelf stacker might be not too distant future.
Meta entered the Text-to Ai space as they released Make-A-Video
We're now seeing a big player enter this space. As more companies compete to be the next gen Ai software. It would be easy to bet on AI at Meta to come out top as they have the resources and people to put behind this. Ultimately more competition would create a better end product for end users.
I'm excited at the potential of having access to creative video content without needing long rendering times and big budgets.
Example: Type "Gorilla playing the drums to Phil Colins In The Air Tonight."
Output:
The most simple explanation of #bitcoin you will hear today. Video explains it under 3min.
This video is from BBC News and is great in explaining the technology behind Bitcoin that everyone can understand.
Regardless of your opinion or affiliation with Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency. It's worthwhile to understand the process behind it to help make an informed decision.
Redesign your home interior with Ai
@levelsio is making more moves in the Ai space - this time with interior design. Not satisfied after his last build of This House Does Not Exist. This next AI project Interior Ai allows you to take a photo of a room in your home and by selection a few custom options - you can get interior design ideas generated by ai.
This is a great example of looking for practical use cases of the current iteration of the technology. This idea takes the current technology of Ai Art and uses the technology behind it to start creating new products and services on top of it.
Artist Alper Yesiltas: ‘Resurrects' dead stars with AI.
Ever wondered what Freddie Mercury, Micheal Jackson, Kurt Cobain, and Jimi Hendrix would look like if they were still alive?
"As if nothing happened” showcases “How Some Celebrities Would Look Today If They Were Alive”.
"With the development of AI technology, I've been excited for a while, thinking that "anything imaginable can be shown in reality".?When I started tinkering with technology, I saw what I could do and thought about what would make me the happiest.?I wanted to see some of the people I missed again in front of me and that's how this project emerged."
We'll end this week's newsletter with a post I did about designers fearing Ai will take jobs. I’d be interested to hear what your thoughts are in the Poll but so far everyone seems most interested in learning how to use Ai tools themselves.
What interests you most from this week - Robotics, Ai video, Bitcoin, interior ai or ai art? If there is anything I missed or that you would like covered feel free to comment or you can send me a DM. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this week's topics.
