Web3 Diary: WINning a Beautiful Year in Web3

It’s been one year this December since I got introduced to web3 formally. Though had a broad idea around cryptos and NFTs then, serious attention paid into this was last December. As this month is sort of my anniversary in web3, the digital entity Women Intense NFT (WIN) that has Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) as it’s focal theme is minting its PFP collection ‘STEM Intense Girls’ this month - making December very special.

Primarily a Human Capital Strategist & Consultant, my larger interest is in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for more than a decade now. All began with my PhD thesis which was a study on employee motivation. The research that was started during early 2000 was about the factors that motivate employees. It was interesting to see that the factors that motivated men were not always the factors that motivated women which prompted me to take deeper interest in DEI. Besides being in research, have passionately started pursuing writing & speaking on DEI.

Ethnicity, gender, education, age and even personalities- inclusion of all sorts would hugely benefit people, communities, nations & organisations. I have special focus on women because they are almost half the population and struggling to access resources, skills & opportunities and this has prompted in founding BEYOND Pink App. Conceived as a short content platform initially to bridge the information gap, we have pivoted the strategy during the ?pandemic to develop this as a a tool driven App that would help women with information, safety & community support. Had a few interesting people investing initially in it. We are currently on fund raise for BEYOND Pink to build some interesting modules and to go to market.

Canada based Blockcerts Blockchain, was developing a blockchain based fund raise platform and Blockcert's Greg Kular was discussing about BEYOND Pink to be on the platform. ?Though Blockcerts shelved the project later to focus more on other priority platforms including a NFT market place, it was wonderful connecting with some of the Blockcerts team members including the Chief People Officer, Tiffany Johnston. Blockcerts was very supportive of the cause that BEYOND Pink App was focusing and wanted to explore the possibilities of showcasing BEYOND Pink App's NFTs in their upcoming NFT market place. It was an amazing discussion Tiffany and I had about NFTs which prompted me to do deeper research about web3. I realised the role web3 would play in future.

I have founded Women Intense NFT (WIN) with Taraka Prabhu who is a expert in blockchain. Women Intense NFT has been conceived as a digital entity with a long-term vision. Our genesis project ‘IWD Genesis’ is a collection of 125 NFTs and 80% of the revenue is meant for giving to three NGOs we have formally partnered with. We think mostly boundary-less and these NGOs are founded by women in Africa, Vietnam & Sri Lanka and their work is in the sustainability space.

That being said, we are excited about what is being launched in this month of December by Women Intense NFT (WIN)- the ‘STEM Intense Girls’ PFP collection. The gender gap in Science, Technology, ?Engineering & Mathematics ( STEM) careers & education is huge. Around 25% women overall in STEM and many STEM areas have fewer women in them- including in Blockchain where women are just around 8%.

STEM Intense Girls which is a collection of NFTs, covering 50 STEM fields to inspire girls while celebrating diversity & aesthetics of art envisions to achieve:

* Onboarding/educating 7777 in web3 free of cost

* Amplifying STEM education & research in different part of the world through our NGO partners

* STEM Comic books covering 50 STEM fields ( Later more fields)

* WIN- Metaverse tower ( building with Metefluence) with event, shopping, NFTs, Education floors along with a floor that would have STEM labs with immersive experience, Museum covering women contributing / contributed in STEM fields and also a library that would have Comic bools covering 50 & more STEM fields.

I’m excited about the future of web3, blockchain & metaverse. While we are in a bear market now, I’m bullish about the future.
