Can you share a little bit about yourself?

My name is Jeremy David Koven. I’m a partner at LDR Ventures and an entrepreneur. I founded a clothing brand, Agent Cali, when I was 12 years old, and have had a love of business, art, fashion and culture ever since.

I have a wide range of interests from cooking, hospitality, golf, tennis, art, travel, and fitness to name a few.

When I’m not working or studying, I really enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I’m investing in web 3 to inspire, learn and to be a beacon of light for those who want to build inclusive and diverse communities, have impact, create jobs and raise awareness for economic equality - worldwide.

How did you get into Web3 and how long have you been involved?

Initially, I got involved with Web 3 via cryptocurrencies. Around 2018, online sports betting had gotten popular with my friends, and the only way to bet was by using Bitcoin (If only I had just kept that Bitcoin up to now). I then was re-introduced to the space a little before Covid-19 began when a friend called and said “you need to buy some Cardano, I heard it’s going to at-least 5X.” I knew next to nothing about how these digital currencies worked, but when I heard a 5X return I began studying a few hours a day, digging up any article or YouTube video that were on the internet. I began to see the longevity of digital currencies and assets, and I attribute a lot of that to my little brother Jordan who is a Roblox fanatic. This was the beginning of my Web 3 obsession.

What is the change that you would like to see Web3 bring to the world?

I want to see Web 3 make the world more equitable, and to break down the invisible global barriers between cultures. There’s so much world that is a mystery to me, and I’ve gotten a glimpse into others lives simply by getting on google meets and wanting to build really complex projects with the help of others. A lot of the people I’ve been chatting with are located in the Philippines, Europe, Australia, etc. I also really would love to see web 3 being used to help bring a sense of community and security to the underserved. I think DAO’s are an amazing means of achieving this! NFT projects should each vow to use a cut of their profits and put it towards making a positive impact on the globe in one way or another. These are just a few of the many things I’m really looking to implement in my projects, and hope others will as well.

What is your superpower - what are you best known for?

My superpower is empathy.

My life has been far from typical; I have been through and seen a lot in my 21 years of life. These life experiences, especially the tougher ones, have taught me to cherish the wins, and to always find the silver lining. I’ve been mentoring quite a few young adults by sharing my wisdom of experience.

I’ve lived in Massachusetts, Connecticut, East Harlem, New York, and multiple parts of California, and have met amazing people everywhere I’ve gone, all of which contributed to who I am today. The team I’ve constructed for my Web3 endeavors is a combination of incredibly talented and hardworking, diverse, multicultural individuals - some who have played pivotal roles in my life, new friends who will be a big part of it going forward and vice versa.

Frankly, I love meeting people, connecting, and sharing experiences. I think that’s why I gravitated towards Web 3. We use the term community a lot, and for good reason. This is one of the first times in my life where I’ve felt that all of my interests and goals can be additive to others and accepted globally.
