Web client for AWS SFTP

FTP has been around for a long time and still is a strong contender when it comes to transferring data between ad-hoc systems. The secure variant, SFTP, improves its security but still requires special clients for end users to interact with the service.

AWS team has come up with an open-source solution that helps solve this to some extent. However, it’s not ready for prime time yet. Following improvements will help with its adoption in enterprises and alike.

• Multifile uploads – Having to upload ten files one at a time is a cumbersome task
• Azure AD Integration – Lets face it, Azure AD is THE identity platform for enterprises. For this solution to be successful it needs to integrate with Azure AD and leverage existing user life cycling and security enhancements already in place by organisations
• Allowed IP Lists – This is a standard feature of any FTP solution. Integrations, especially the legacy ones, somewhat rely on IP filtering to enhance their security posture.

Nonetheless it’s a great solution and a good start to a problem we all face every now and then.
