Web bites
Hi everyone! In this?month's?edition, you will find a handpicked collection of web experiences and UI?big?little details, bite-sized?visual juice, and micro-interactions.
In an increasingly standardized visual landscape, I am more and more drawn to web and visual designs incorporating storytelling or creating immersive narrative experiences.?In the same way, I'm also fascinated by designs that encourage exploration, experimentation, and interaction, providing an almost "tangible" quality for the user despite the digital barrier.
That's exactly the inspiration and the guiding thread for this month's recommendations ??

“Equinox” is a stunning immersive space survival webGL experience developed by? Little Workshop . They handled everything, including design, programming, art, and music, bringing a cinematic quality to the experience and amazingly combining two of my soft spots: storytelling and gamification.
Built by Mariana Castilho , this is a delightful collection of small UI ideas and components.
Another interactive web experience with a sci-fi theme, featuring interactive audio and a unique interface. This immersive website showcases the work of Nanoshrine Interactive, a creative technology studio.
Griflan , Jesper Landberg , Ingamana , and Bryan James collaborated to create an impressive website for Techspeed , a tech company specializing in data outsourcing services. The design seamlessly integrates playful interactive illustrations made by combining Rive animation and code. This is a great example of the immense potential that some of the tools I discussed in one of my previous editions ("Create" ) can unlock for website design.
Storytime with Nigel is another interesting interactive web piece. The platform blends storytelling with custom-made illustrations and AI-powered tools to create personalized stories.
You won’t find anything functional here, just a surprising visual experience. I can't express enough how much I love this experimental black-and-white web piece. The objective of Aleksandr Petulko in creating this was to produce something visually impressive, using only basic components. Mission accomplished, don’t you think?
This is another of my favorite entries in this selection. Drams is a Framer components collection inspired by the design principles of German industrial designer Dieter Rams. The project - created by product designers Karime M?ll and Lee Black - focuses on simplicity, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. Users can remix, create, and submit their designs for a chance to be featured. The results are incredible.
Haus is a full-service digital agency and this is their website, a playful, colorful, and creative design piece, full of great animated little details. The “Born Makers” hero section is just perfect.

Developed by Merci-Michel , this website invites us to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Boucheron’s “Quatre” collection. The beautiful design incorporates mini-games to showcase the iconic ring of the French jewelry brand. Besides the evident creativity of the design, I find it also a great example of how to mix game-like logic with a luxurious and elegant feeling design.
Design Spells is a platform collecting micro-interactions and little UI details that add life, personality, and magic to website or app design. One of the most attractive features is that you can subscribe to?their newsletter ?and receive these “design spells” directly in your inbox.
Codrops is a blog that specializes in web design and provides inspiration, creative tools, CSS tutorials, and references. One?interesting?section on the site is this one called "playground," where the Codrops team showcases web experiments, concepts, and layouts that go beyond the conventional.
A great collection of free buttons you'll tap, made in Codepen by collaborators and ready to copy & paste into any project.
Retool created this amazing and fun mini-site telling the story of Yahoo Pipes. Yahoo Pipes was a platform that allowed users to aggregate, manipulate, and mash up data from various sources without requiring programming knowledge.
The entire mini-site is a visually delightful and nostalgic piece and the homepage highlights many fun interactions.
Retool also has another previous site dedicated to Visual Basic , as part of a series telling the stories of novel programming environments that had influence on developers. It's definitely worth checking out!
Crystal Dynamics partnered with the ThreeSixtyEight agency to create this interactive website to promote the launch of the remastered versions of the first three Tomb Raider games. When you scroll down the website, you'll be challenged to a fun discovery mini-game.
I must admit, I got totally distracted for a few minutes finding all the hidden relics while writing this entry! ?? Once again, the website includes Rive animations, and I highly recommend watching this video where one of their software engineers gives an interesting behind-the-scenes look.
Last but not least, the website for the digital security company Kelvin Zero, designed and developed by Cuberto Agency , features nice on-scroll effects that guide the visitor from the header to the footer, making all the information more visually compelling and easier to digest.
I hope you enjoyed this month’s recommendations as much as I did. See you next month!
