Web 3.0. What does that mean?

Web 3.0 is the internet evolution. The internet, since its inception, has different ways of using it and different phases, which were called Web 1.0, Web 2.0 and Web 3.0.
To understand what Web 3.0 is, each phase is described a little:
Web 1.0, How it all started
The origin of web 1.0 took place in the early 1990s and lasted until the early 2000s. It was the era of sites with static content, produced predominantly by companies and institutions, that is, it was a generation marked by the centralized production of content.
There was little interactivity between users and the pages had formats that served as digital catalogs. The user was just a tip to consume the content. Searches were basically carried out in online encyclopedias, e-mail and few institutions producing content.
The main services at that time were Altavista, Geocities, Cadê, Hotmail, DMOZ, Yahoo! and Google.
Its biggest advantage was the democratization of access to information.
Web 2.0, where we are today
The origin of Web 2.0 took place in the early 2000s and continues to this day.
It is marked by a version that users interact with existing pages on the Web and perform greater interactivity between them. Considered the era of social networks, where everyone can be content producers and expand their social relationships.
At that time, the internet became popular all over the world. The websites created are no longer static and have a clearly consumer-focused layout.
There is an extraction of value from the data of the users who use the platforms. Big technology companies, called Big Techs, dominate the market and monetize through the sale of their users' data. Consumption patterns are analyzed, which are transformed into insights, which are sold to other companies in the form of advertising, thus making it possible to monetize. These companies know our preferences, our way of thinking, who we hang out with, what we look for on the internet and how to sell us the best deal. With this, it is highlighted that the lack of privacy of the users of the platforms is very great.
Web 2.0, in contrast to Web 1.0, has its content generated predominantly by its users in a process that many produce and all consume. Some examples of user-generated content platforms are blogs, social networks, and YouTube. In Web 2.0, the user is no longer just a consumer and becomes a producer, or co-producer.
At this moment, mobile browsing and the use of applications already have a strong presence in people's daily lives.
The great virtue of Web 2.0 lies in the democratization of content production.

Web 3.0, the future
As one of the main trends for 2022, Web 3.0 is the term being used to describe the next generation of services, tools and new paradigms that are already being built. Other denominations of this same moment are “Semantic Web” and “Intelligent Web”.
Decentralization via Blockchain, integration of new artificial intelligence technologies and augmented virtual reality will be characteristics of this new generation of internet.
Decentralization of services is the main paradigm shift. The computing power comes from the users themselves and they own the information. This concept can make centralized applications obsolete.
The Blockchain of Web3.0, as one of the web engines will be responsible for the distribution of the data, as it will be responsible for the way of distributing the data, with security and will be able to provide centralized, safe and secure information. In addition, Blockchain will be responsible for returning ownership of information to its owners, taking it out of the hands of Big Techs such as Facebook and google.
There will be greater user privacy, making it possible to make purchases and browse anonymously.
It will be the creation of more accessible, accessible and transparent digital businesses. With a decentralized structure, the user will have autonomy over their own data and digital services, in addition to generating value for all available links that are part of this dynamic.
We have all the information in an organized way so that not only humans can understand, especially as machines, but they can also help us to answer surveys and questions with a concrete, personalized and ideal solution.
It will be an internet that is increasingly closer to artificial intelligence. It will be an even smarter use of knowledge and content available online, with smarter websites and applications, personalized experience and increasingly smarter advertising in the searches and behavior of individuals.
