In this weather a heat pump could be your saviour.

In the UK the press have been revving everyone up saying its going to be 40 degrees etc. Not surprisingly it didn't happen, it was 27C today in the South of England so a bit warm but nothing to write home about. We dont have ventilation in our houses, if we did we would turn it on in the evening and bring the lovely cool air in from outside. Its never above 20C in the evening in the UK so there is plenty of cool air around. To try to help we open the windows and pray it will work and no burglars will come in.
If you have a heat pump you could in theory turn it to cooling and cool the house down. All heat pumps can cool. But dont do that. Its a stupid idea. I wrote this blog a year ago. its time to bring it out again. I'm being lazy I know, but the bbq is on and I need to finish my dinner before the sun goes in and the temperature plummets so i need a jumper.

2 年Common sense as ever Mr Hendra….a lovely 24c in Durham today. All curtains closed, windows north and south opened. Aircon on in one room for the large shaggy 15 year old dog….we’re all outside enjoying the Durham brass festival (check out the Italians… @Abrakadabra they’re awesome)….with copious ciders and G&T’s.
