On WEATHER
Recognize we are constantly enveloped in it.
When it is sunny, cloudy, windy, stormy, balmy, damp, cold or chilly, it is only natural we understand how we are unduly affected by our environment, which includes the weather of the day.
Energized, lazy, discouraged, excited, calm, moody . . . Can we become less sensitive to the weather?
Many claim, Mount Washington has been marked as having the worst weather in the world. In one moment during the day, it can be relatively 'calm' and then shift into 40 mph winds on an extreme summer summit day. Living on the valley floor, one might experience a very different condition.
If you are someone who can stay in a?great mood?and?not be brought down by the any gloomy, dark, damp, overcast day,?count your blessings.? Most people find their life and moods are?affected by?the weather.
Weather can make?our mood go from good to great or?bad to worse.
Since we all know we can't control it,?grab your journal and begin to?uncover circumstances you can control?that might be?interfering with your overall happiness and health in life.
When the sun is shining, flowers of all colors are in full bloom, and it is warm outside,?most of us feel happy.?According to the research, it is when humidity rises that people tend to get?irritable and tired.?
More studies are looking into the impact?barometric pressure fluctuations?have on our moods?and?health.?Many experience,?joint pain and headaches?when there are major shifts in pressure and some might even swear they have the ability to tell you when a storm is coming or not.
There are new studies defining the link between?low pressure and suicide,?which were magnified during the lockdowns in 2020. The effects of the weather?are real?when it comes to making a difference in your life?and?your family's lives at any age.
“Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces up, snow is exhilarating; there is no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.” --- John Ruskin
