Wear Your Happy - Dress Up Friday!

To get dressed up or stay in your pyjamas? That is the question…
As most of us are now working from home, I’ve been trying to think of some new ways to boost our team morale here at Reed, as well as encouraging social interaction and driving productivity.
It can be a REALLY long day, especially if you’re working alone, so these things are absolutely key to supporting our mental health and wellbeing.
Also - I don’t know about you, but during our work video calls I spend most of the time staring at my own face and wondering if that’s how I actually look! (Dear colleagues - I’m so sorry to inflict this upon you... haha!)
In truth, there’s not much to do apart from stay at home (and wash your hands, etc) and I’m worried that I’m now in the process of completely abandoning grooming altogether!
Days can quickly become a blur with no real distinction between Monday and Friday, or work and relaxing - I can't seem to dress for the occasion anymore!
Here at Reed, we are normally in favour of doing a ‘Dress down Friday’ to allow us a bit of comfort and informality in the office each week, but now I’m proposing that we do a 'Wear Your Happy - Dress Up Friday’.
I’d also like to extend this invite to my LinkedIn network - feel free to join us! It would be great to get the wider work community involved and we will also be sharing our 'working from home outfit(s) of the day'.
Of course, ‘dressing up’ or 'wearing your happy' can be whatever you want it to be - as simple as taming your hair, putting on some make up, or you can go all out and wear something absolutely fabulous / ridiculous, super glam / EXTRA!
Why is this so important?
- It’s really helpful for those who are maybe feeling a bit overwhelmed or experiencing low mood at the moment.
- It can boost productivity and gets us in a 'motivated' and 'task-focused' mindset.
- ‘Look good, feel good’ - our clothes impact our behaviour!
- It creates a sense of structure and helps us to set boundaries in our day-to-day.
Feel free to join our fashion efforts tomorrow - I'm looking forward to seeing some fabulous outfits!

4 年Love this!! I have a HUGE collection of necklaces...most of which are kinda big and showy for work (Tatty Devine and my own creations) however I do also have smaller necklaces that tend to get ignored....no more! I am making them my WFH necklaces....AND today I'd already made my mind up to up my game a bit and am wearing a Snoopy and Woodstock necklace :)
