Wear Strips For Conveyors
Product: Conveyor Wear Strips
Plastic: Adhesive Backed UHMW
We all know what a conveyor does and what it looks like -- But in case you've been living on Mars, here is a picture of a conveyor:

...What many people don't consider, is the AMOUNT OF WEAR that takes place when a conveyor belt runs along a metal surface over and over, sometimes 24 hours a day.
This is where thin-gauge UHMW comes in handy. Below is a photograph of Crown Plastics Adhesive Backed UHMW on the metal surface of a conveyor where the belt has been taken off:
When the belt is put back on, it looks like this:
The wear strips prevent long term wear on both the belts and metal surface of the conveyor, which will save your customers a ton of money over time.
Adhesive-backed is the ideal solution for this application, because it eliminates the time and cost of mechanical fasteners -- Which also require purchasing a thicker sheet of UHMW, because when you drill in a bolt head the UHMW sheet needs to be thicker than the head of the bolt, so that it can be drilled down far enough so that the bolt head doesn't scrape along the conveyor belt. The below video from Crown is great at explaining this with visuals:
When it comes to markets for this product, think of anyplace that has a conveyor -- Which, with the rise of the Amazon Economy and entry of Walmart into the online fray, is an EXPLODING business.
When looking for sales, think beyond traditional conveyor manufacturers -- You can also sell this as an aftermarket MRO tool that will reduce damage to your customers existing equipment.
Is there a UPS, Fedex, Amazon, USPS, DHL, or Walmart fulfillment center near you? (If the answer to this is "No" I suggest you look again). All of these operations -- Or even Industrial Distributors like Grainger, and Motion Industries -- Are potential customers for MRO using thin-gauge adhesive backed UHMW.
