The Weaponisation of Antisemitism: Shielding 'Israel' from Accountability

It’s astonishing how the same narrative is weaponised time and again to shield the indefensible. This latest survey from the ADL is another perfect example of manipulation under the guise of combating "antisemitism." We're never shown the exact questions, never given transparency about how conclusions are drawn, yet we’re expected to take their claims at face value—that nearly half the world harbours antisemitic views. What does this even mean? And more importantly, who decides what qualifies as antisemitism?

Take, for example, the specific claim that 40% of respondents under 35 believe "Jews are responsible for most of the world’s wars." At face value, this may sound inflammatory, but let’s unpack it. Many people associate modern wars with the Middle East—a region where 'Israel', which claims to represent all Jews, has been central to decades of conflict. 'Israel' has engaged in wars, interventions, and occupations that have destabilised not just the Middle East but also global politics. From the 1948 Nakba to the current genocide in Gaza, from bombing Iraq’s nuclear facilities to meddling in Syria and Lebanon 'Israel’s' fingerprints are everywhere. This isn’t antisemitism; it’s historical fact. Criticising the actions of a state that proudly claims to be the "Jewish homeland" isn’t hatred of Jews—it’s holding a government accountable for its actions.

But the ADL and its allies don’t want accountability. They want a blank check for Israel's crimes, and they use surveys like this to reinforce a narrative that any criticism is inherently antisemitic. It’s a deliberate conflation of Jewish identity with the state of 'Israel', designed to silence dissent. And when global outrage grows over the brutal realities of genocide, displacement, and land theft, they double down, branding that outrage as hatred rather than righteous indignation.

Let’s talk about impunity. 'Israel' is unique in modern history for its ability to commit egregious crimes while crying victim. It steals land, bombs civilians, imposes apartheid, and murders thousands, yet it demands the world turn a blind eye because criticising these acts might hurt their feelings. Look at 'Israel’s' repeated attacks on its own allies—such as the bombing of the USS Liberty—brushed aside without consequence. Look at the billions of dollars in aid the U.S. pours into 'Israel', even as Americans themselves face poverty and homelessness. Yet when the world reacts, when people point to these injustices, 'Israel' cries antisemitism to deflect accountability.

This survey is just another weapon in the Hasbara arsenal. The ADL doesn’t care about rooting out genuine bigotry. If they did, they’d confront the extremism within 'Israel' itself—leaders chanting “death to Arabs,” settlers burning olive groves, and mobs cheering on the bombing of hospitals and refugee camps. They’d address the systemic racism and apartheid within 'Israel' rather than focus on shutting down global dissent.

The truth is, 'Israel’s' actions are creating the very backlash they decry. When people see the images of dead children pulled from rubble, of mothers wailing over their murdered babies, of entire families wiped out by airstrikes, they feel anger—and rightfully so. That anger isn’t antisemitism. It’s a natural, human reaction to injustice. And the more 'Israel' tries to suppress that anger by labelling it hate, the more transparent its agenda becomes.

'Israel’s' crimes don’t just harm Palestinians—they harm the Jewish people worldwide by perpetuating this conflation. Many good Jews reject Zionism and the actions of the 'Israeli' state, but the ADL and 'Israel’s' propagandists work tirelessly to blur the line between Judaism and Zionism, making it harder for people to separate a religion from a political ideology. This tactic fuels antisemitism, even as they claim to fight it.

Let’s be clear: the world’s growing condemnation of 'Israel' is not about hatred of Jews. It’s about justice for Palestinians. It’s about opposing genocide, apartheid, and settler colonialism. And the louder 'Israel' and its defenders shout “antisemitism,” the more it exposes its desperation to distract from the reality of its crimes.
