Wealth Management Doesn't Have to be Boring

Wealth Management Doesn't Have to be Boring

"The Most Interesting Man in Wealth Management" according to my friend Ryan George .

I was recently emailing back and forth with my friend Ryan George of Docupace as we're prepping for our webinar on January 17th on Advisor Technology where I get to share the stage with industry experts Craig Iskowitz & Kyle Van Pelt .

Ryan asked me for a bio or speaker intro I would like to have listed and I really had nothing prepared, so I just directed him to my LinkedIn Profile to check out my About Us section.

He came back telling me "I’m giving you a new name as “the most interesting man in wealth management” with the following picture.

Never one to take myself too seriously, I had to respond with the picture at the top of this post!

The fun exchange got me thinking, Wealth Management doesn't have to be boring. In fact I think there are a lot of us in this profession that have a great sense of humor like my friend H. Adam Holt, CFP?, ChFC? (pictured here). We have a lot of fun and laughs each week recording for our Rethink. Financial Advice Podcast .

What I'm trying to say is that Wealth Management is actually really cool and can be a lot of fun and in my own little way, I am trying to show just how awesome we are and that we all have fun and interesting stories that are helping us shape the future of financial advice.

A lot of great people in our profession are doing amazing things and it's important for us to support each other, but also have some fun doing it!

To that end I wanted to share our upcoming webinar on Advisor Technology happening next week, don't miss it! Sign up here. There will be great information with some laughs along the way I'm sure.

Taking things one step further I wanted to share a very special interview I recently did with Steve Urban and my friends over at Riderflex - Recruiting & Consulting . What makes this one special? It's the most personal interview I've ever given. It's important to build relationships with people by opening up, so here you go! You can watch it below or listen to the podcast here.

A big thank you to everyone in, and out, of our profession for loving what you do and having fun doing it!

Please share any fun pictures and/or tag anyone you think has a funny sense of humor!

Cheers,

Love this post Derek! And I think it is important to show clients and potential clients to how approachable you are, that you can laugh and yes, that managing your wealth can be fun!
