• Nubank announces the crossing of 100 million customers.
• Nik Storonsky, founder and CEO of Revolut, stated at the Dubai FinTech Summit that Revolut hit $2bn of revenue and $350m net income in 2023.
• The Treasury Department is looking to tighten regulations to prevent the U.S. financial system from being used for money laundering.
• China rolled out its boldest steps yet to fix its?broken housing market, as Beijing sought to finally end a drawn-out real-estate crunch that has hobbled its economy for years.
• The Philippine central bank held its policy rate steady at 6.50% as it continues to guard against inflation risks, but the meeting has stirred speculation that its hawkish stance is softening.
• China’s central bank held key policy rates steady, which could preface a hold on benchmark lending rates later this month. The People’s Bank of China injected 125 billion yuan ($17.28 billion) worth of liquidity via the medium-term lending facility, which charges banks an interest rate of 2.5%. The rate was unchanged from the last operation.
• The Australian Government has passed the Digital ID Bill 2024 and Digital ID (Transitional and Consequential Provisions) Bill 2024.
• The US Supreme Court has rejected an attempt to undercut the funding of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

• Kraken has intensified its legal battle with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by filing a reply to the agency’s April letter regarding the company’s motion to dismiss the case.
• HSBC has added a feature to its mobile app in the UK to help customers identify, plan and manage their saving goals.
