Portfolio news
Elon Musk has confirmed that SpaceX’s headquarters will officially relocate from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas, at the company’s Boca Chica facility. This decision follows Musk’s dissatisfaction with California’s regulatory environment and aligns with SpaceX’s earlier incorporation transfer to Texas. The move is part of Musk’s broader trend of relocating operations to Texas, where Tesla's headquarters also moved in 2021.
Anthropic has launched Claude 3.5 Haiku, its fastest AI model. The model is now available to all users, including free-tier access. It offers improved speed, accuracy, and performance for tasks like coding, chatbots, and content moderation, with pricing starting at $0.80 per million input tokens.
Anthropic published a blog detailing its efforts to prevent AI misuse during elections, including policies against campaigning, misinformation, and interference. It conducted extensive testing and directed users to nonpartisan sources. Election-related queries made up less than 1% of usage, mostly focused on political systems and policies.
Groq published an article explaining AI inference, which involves applying a trained model’s learned patterns to new data for tasks like predictions, text summarization, or speech recognition. The article highlights how efficient inference enables real-time applications and introduces Groq’s LPU? platform, designed to enhance speed and energy efficiency for AI tasks in practical settings.
Perplexity announced that you can now customize Perplexity to search over only a specific set of domains and (or) files on Spaces.

Wealt blog spotlight
This week’s selected blog is Is 60/40 Portfolio Dead?
The traditional 60/40 portfolio, once a reliable strategy, is losing effectiveness due to rising inflation and market volatility, which have reduced bond yields and diversification benefits. To adapt, a 40/30/30 model is suggested, reallocating 40% to equities, 30% to bonds, and 30% to alternative investments such as private equity, real estate, and commodities. This approach aims to improve diversification, enhance returns, and provide greater resilience in an increasingly complex financial environment.
