We work together and we win together

There is a saying, which goes like this, no one lights a candle and keeps it under the table, and in recent times, you will find a noise maker in every society or organization. There is always going to be someone to blow the trumpet, otherwise, not much will be heard about all the groundbreaking achievements, especially in a remote mine site, like our case.

The only situation where Journalists or newscasters will travel to cover success stories in remote areas is by invitation, where a company may want to market its products.

The pictures shown above are employees of Jac Rijk Al-Rushaid Ad Duwayhi mine site in Saudi Arabia, we have indeed chalked so many success stories in recent times.

We have always considered ourselves responsible for every failure, we don’t blame others for our failures, we learned from our mistakes and worked on those mistakes, and with the support and dynamic leadership, right from the CEO, the General Manager, and the HR Manager Mr. Alaa Abdulaziz, we have exceeded what we set out to achieve, this couldn’t have been possible without those steering the affairs onsite,namely; Peter Hugh Kerley, (Acting Project Manager) Brian Kombe (Production Superintendent and Relieving Project Manager), Godfred Tandoh/Lawrence John Shankaya (Production Supervisors) Larry Hernandez (Workshop Manager), ?Yusuf Ali Rockson, (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Manager). Jacobus Grobbelaar (Drill & Blast Supervisor) James Newlove (Supply Chain Manager), Meshari Al Wahbi (Procurement Manager), Muneeb Ur Rehman (Financial Controller) and more importantly, everyone who contributed towards the realization of this goal.

The first achievement by the site for the year was the ability to transform young Saudi Nationals from the Saudi Mining Polytechnic into competent haul truck operators, whilst others are working in Safety, Administration, and stores. This is in support of the vision 2030 which is a policy of the Saudi Government. The kingdom wants young Saudi nationals to be properly trained, who will eventually take charge and run the relatively young Mining industry.

The second achievement for the year is the ability of the site to achieve 2000 000-man hours without a lost-time injury, for which awards of SMART WATCHES, have been procured to be distributed to all employees. As of the time of writing this article our new Safety Target is 3000 000 LTI free man-hours, of which we have made 900 LTI free days with 2,368,590 LTI free Hours and still counting. This tells you how safe our operation is.

Thirdly, the team has achieved 1,334 days (3 years, 7 Months, and 23 days) without fatigue-related incidents.

Fourthly, JRAR achieved zero nonconformity in all three ISO surveillance Audits (ISO?45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001) held in April 2022.

Finally, on production, which is a very important subject, because that is where the company makes money to pay our salaries to enable us to take care of our bills. We achieved the highest production figures in the month of June, which has turned out to be the highest in the past three years when the mine had not gone so deep.

If you have the desire to achieve anything in life, you will always find a way of doing it, but if you do not have the desire, you can always find an excuse....
