Are we winning?

Are we winning?

I've spent a lot of time over the last months thinking about rates. Not interest rates - well, partly interest rates - but mostly rates related to climate change and sustainability: rates of growth, rates of decline, rates of degradation, and how Covid has accelerated a lot of these. Rates are important - they are invisible, but they shape the world: understand enough rates, and you know how the future will unfold.

Many of us have devoted our careers to climate change and creating a sustainable world. We have deployed a LOT of effort in the past decades to evangelize, to support companies that provide sustainable solutions, to raise capital. All of this can be measured in rates too - rates of capital flows, of return, of startups, of global warming. And I think it's time to take stock and see what the rates are telling us: Are we winning?

Impact Alpha kindly published the resulting article of these reflections today. I look forward to seeing whether you all agree or disagree with the conclusions!
