Are we what we eat?
I'm afraid the old saying 'we are what we eat' is a scientifically proven fact, so our food choices directly affect our health.
According to Leiden University, the food one eats modulates the way we think and perceive the world, therefore, the food has a bearing on one's state of mind.
To be honest, my mood gets better whenever I get the chance to eat Iberico pork meat, not only for its taste, but also for its nourishment value. About our Iberico pork loin, we can check it in this chart:
In addition, Iberico pork is rich in vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12, niacin (a type of vitamin B, which is hydrosoluble), folic acid, zinc and iron.
We should take into account that whole foods contain all the ingredients and tastes nature intended. Nothing is removed. Nothing is added. They are more nutrient-dense, are more flavourful and have none of the chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, hormones, fungicides, artificial flavors, colours and additives that are typically used to increase shelf life of processed foods.
Needless to say, regarding frozen meat, if the freezing process have been done with fresh meat in an industrial way, only an excellent taster could see some difference with fresh food, furthermore most of nutritionists consider that it may offer a higher nutritional quality than the fresh product.
I wouldn't like to finish my exposition without pointing out that Victor Lindlahr, American weight loss pioneer, wrote in 1940 that "Ninety per cent of the diseases known to man are caused by cheap foodstuffs. You are what you eat."
