Our population continues to become more sedentary every year which leads to more mental and physical health problems. The fact that over 80% of adolescents are inactive is alarming and needs to be reversed. There is a plethora of research on the positive effects of exercise and now the World Health Organization has put out new guidelines on recommended levels of activity. However, we need actions to really make sure that these recommendations are put into practice. Physical activity and play should be part of every day, just like brushing your teeth and it should also be fun. When will schools, doctors and parents make it a priority?
