Racial Bias, And Racial Injustice In The Court Of Law is A Way Of Life
I know only too well how it feels as a black woman in america, to experience racial injustice, discrimination and bias in the local family court of law in Delaware.
December 9, 2013, Family Court Judge Mardi Pyott ruled against me sending my minor son to a Christian School. Forcing to remove him immediately, and place him in public school. To add insult to injury, she forced me to attend a segregated place of worship, where the congregants are predominately black, lead by anglo saxon leadership. Is this considered mixing church and state?
Judge Pyotts theory was, "she did not believe my son would abandon his religious beliefs." The day of Judge Pyotts’ reckless ruling, was the beginning of my minor sons’ decline.
The day Judge Pyott scheduled our hearing, a protection from abuse court order was in place. Judge Pyott forced me and my son to face an angry ex husband, who verbally abused me in the court of law in front of a woman Judge Pyott.
What Judge Pyott did not realize, was that after her reckless ruling, the vindictive ex husband would relinquish his parental rights. The question still resounds in my mind, if we were anglo saxon, would this have gone another way, would I have been writing this article? I will never know.

9 年I think it would've been the same. I've sat in on cases just like yours, with patents of various races, religions etc. I think the real problem is that Domedtic violence continues to be ignored. Its even worse for fathers who want to be fathers. Ive seen court cases where mothers got full custody, when those mothets were the kind of people I would not allow to adopt a rescued animal. Ignorance.
