We want you to be secure (but not from us).
Quoting from Yahoo's corporate security pages....
"Protecting our systems and our users’ information is paramount to ensuring Yahoo users enjoy a secure user experience and maintaining our users’ trust."
Well, given what we now know what a load of babbly bollocks that is.
The thing is according to the New York Times in 2014 Yahoo's chief of security recommended some changes that would make their platform a lot more secure by employing "end-to-end" encryption. But this initiative was thwarted by the guy who runs their email and messaging services because "...it would have hurt Yahoo’s ability to index and search message data..." You know what that means? It means that Yahoo wouldn't be able to read your email.
So the next time you hear a company saying that they're serious about your security ask them if you're secure from them.
Bollocks it is. When you wanted to correct the problem you got into a circular series of notifications...so someone inside did not want the probkem solved...so I wonder if they found him or her or them yet. M.
They've sorted their DMARC oversight out. I can send mail to gmail again. High ranking end-to-end muppetry. Still, I can't help but draw parallels with RBS: When morale and culture suffer, the consequences are felt by customers.
