We are walking a hundred miles in May
My wife is a member of?Soroptimist International Chester,?a women's service organisation.
A group of her Club members are each walking 100 miles in May to raise ￡800 so that Chanta Savey, a 19 year old Cambodian student, can pursue her dream of a university education.??This sum of money will cover her first year and hopefully we might raise more to cover the subsequent three years of her course.?
The initiative was triggered by our recent visit to Cambodia where we encountered some amazing charity work being done to help women from impoverished backgrounds.
Today Carole started her walks and I plan to be with and support her every step of the way.?

1 年On a personal note, front end loaded production planning has mitigated reliability and breakdowns and I have now completed 74 of the 100 miles . Reliability KPI’s (speed, step length, double support time, asymmetry ) all tracking well and preventative maintainance (warm up, warm down) in place ????????

1 年Good news. The Cambodian student has started her business degree and the walking group have raised through their supporters close to 90 % of the money to cover her first year . Hopefully by the end of May as we each complete our 100 miles there may also be some funding for her second year. Thanks for your help , support and encouragement.

1 年So far my wife & other walkers have raised close to ￡600 which hopefully means by the end of the month that we will have reached the target and hopefully funded some of the following years needs. Been fun stepping out too and so far done 33 of the 100 miles in the first week !
