Are we waiting for Godot?

I never heard of the play “Waiting for Godot” from the great Irish playwright Samuel Beckett, until my son and some of his friends performed it during their middle school years.
The plot was about two poor guys, Vladimir and Estragon seated by a leafless tree talking about their troubles. One of them even shared that he spent the previous night in a ditch.
It looked like there was no hope for these two friends, until the name of Godot was mentioned.
Who was this man? They never met the guy, but talking about him and the possibility of his arrival, changed the conversation completely. They started to smile and spoke with a different meaning and purpose. It’s definitely clear that Godot will solve all of their problems and their life should be completely different. ?
My wife and I had a great time watching our son in one of his best performance as an actor, but also we deeply enjoyed the play’s precise message on human spiritual faith and beliefs.
We think that at some point of life, everyone will ask themselves that same question… about someone with a very similar name. ????
