IF WE WAIT UNTIL WE CAN DO THINGS PERFECTLY BEFORE ACTING, WE WILL NEVER GET TO DO THEM!
The passage, ‘Do not neglect the gift you have’ (1 Timothy 4:14 RSV), reminds us of Luigi Tarisio, born in Italy in 1796, a great collector of violins who took great pride in scouting out rare finds and purchasing only instruments of the finest quality, but sadly no one knew about his passion until he died because, he kept 246 valuable violins in his attic, including an invaluable masterpiece which he had purchased from someone who also bought it solely as a collector’s item. In other words, in preserving the instrument, he had robbed the world of all that music and others before him had done the same. So let the knowledge that: 1) God gave us gifts and He expects us to use them; 2) He will hold us accountable for discovering our talents, developing them to the fullest, and using them to glorify Him and bless others; and 3) If we wait until we can do things perfectly before acting, we will never get to do them; teach you, not to die with your music still inside you or get to the end of your life wondering if your whole life had been wrong!FG. www.fgtalks.com
