We thrive in balance.
I think the world is in need. In need of caring. In need of a new way of leadership.
Reading Clarissa Pinkola Estes's book, “Women who walk with the wolves” made me realise how far away we are from connecting to our innate intuitive human power. Especially the innate feminine power.
( By the way as it has a quote on the cover by Maya Angelou that says; Anyone who can read, should read this book. And i do not disagree with a wise woman )
In the world today I see a lot of leadership that is action based, result based, linear based, logical thinking based. Move! Innovate! Go!
Of course this is not a bad thing. We need those qualities when we want to get things done.
But, I do think we need balance.
In a tribe of horses there are 2 leaders: The leading stallion and the leading mare. The masculine and the feminine. The first drives the tribe away from danger. He walks in the back and forces the others to move by pushing or biting. The second leads the tribe to were it is good. As she starts walking the others will follow.
There is a great potential in that collective, intuitive, embodied, way of leading. The leading mare has to be in touch with the collective all the time sensing the needs of all who belong with her. She is on the lookout of green pastures and knows how to seduce all of her tribe to follow her into the unknown.
It is the way of serving all, all talents, inclusive and whole.
It is the art of seeing & listening carefully to create a collective that is more than its separate parts. To carefully bind people together to create movement and growth. If we combine that with the force of the masculine that brings the power to act and move fast when that is needed, only then we thrive as a whole.
