Are we switching to Figma Slides?

Figma Slides announced at Config by Mihika Kapoor

Mihika Kapoor (PM at Figma) recently announced the launch of Figma Slides - a new way to design and co-create presentations. It comes with a ton of awesome AI features, prototyping capabilities, and just looks and feels easy to use. I’ve seen a lot of designers in the tech industry try to hack slides together on Figma, so I’m super excited to see this come to life and hopefully save us some time.?

Compared to products like Powerpoint and Google Slides, at a glance, it feels like you can 1) customize layout/design way more on Figma and 2) create more interactive presentations for audience members. It’s going to be hard for other products to compete with the interactive prototyping that Figma offers out of the box, but I’m excited to see Google/Microsoft catch up on more AI automation and presentation interactivity. Slides are just one of the best mediums for communication in business so I wonder if non-tech industries will ever give Figma Slides a shot or if it should just be reserved for more designer specific use cases.
