We ?? sustainability in the city!

We are delighted to welcome you to our June newsletter and would like to start by giving you an exciting insight into e-mobility in Darmstadt.

HEAG mobilo, the leading mobility service provider in southern Hesse, is an impressive example of how sustainable transportation can work. With around 50 e-buses and a dedicated team, the company saves 6,600 tons of CO2 emissions and 2.5 million liters of diesel per year - a significant contribution to the environment.

Thanks to CarMedialab's charge management system, the e-buses are charged efficiently and cost-effectively. This not only reduces operating costs, but also supports the transport company's sustainability goals. During our visit, we were able to see the e-buses in action and admire their quiet, emission-free journeys through Darmstadt - a benefit for passengers and the city's environment.

The positive response from the citizens shows the broad acceptance and enjoyment of e-mobility. Kerstin Kutscher, deputy press officer at HEAG mobilo, underlined the benefits: “We prefer to use the electric buses at the weekend because there is less noise and exhaust emissions in the city - and this contributes to relaxation.”

The cooperation between HEAG mobilo and CarMedialab is an example of how advanced technology and a commitment to sustainability can make public transport more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Public Transport

?? Osnabrück soon with 94 % electric bus quota

Picture Stadtwerke Osnabrueck - bus fleet

Since 2019, Osnabrück has made significant progress towards environmentally friendly mobility. The introduction of the first MetroBus line in March 2019 marked the start of all-electric local transport in the city. Just three years later, in 2022, an important milestone was reached: the five existing electric bus lines covered a total of almost 4 million kilometers. Today, 94 % of Osnabrück's buses are electric, and more are planned. Osnabrück is setting a strong example for environmentally friendly public transport and showing that a sustainable future is possible. We think that's great!
