We are stronger together

As I reflect on my career journey, I realise that one of the most important things in any role that I have ever done is about the 'we' and not about the 'I'. It's not about individual accomplishments or personal achievements, but rather about the collective effort of a team working towards a common goal.
When people tell me that I did a good job, it is sometimes the most difficult thing for me to acknowledge because I know that without the support of my colleagues and allies, including Terry Moran, Janet Hill, Paul Carswell, Johanna Keech-Jowers, Dame Sue Owen, and the late Lord Jeremy Heywood, nothing would be possible.
But it would be remiss of me if I did not mention the hundreds, nay thousands of names who have supported me throughout my journey. It takes a village to achieve success, and I have been fortunate to have such an amazing support system. To everyone who has been a part of my success to date and yet to come, I say a heartfelt thank you.
As I think back to my early days in my career, I remember the excitement and eagerness I felt to make a difference. I was eager to prove myself and demonstrate my worth. But as I progressed in my career, I realised that the only way to achieve true success was to work with others and build strong relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
I learned that true success is not measured by individual accomplishments or personal achievements, but rather by the impact we have on the world and the people around us. It is about working together to solve complex problems, overcome obstacles, and achieve great things.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with some incredible people who have inspired me to be a better person and a better leader. People like Terry Moran, who taught me the importance of collaboration and teamwork. Janet Hill, who has been a steadfast ally and friend for many years. Paul Carswell, who has inspired me with his unwavering commitment to excellence. Johanna Keech-Jowers, who has shown me the power of creative thinking and innovation. Dame Sue Owen, who has been a role model and inspiration to me and countless others. And the late Lord Jeremy Heywood, who was a friend, mentor, and colleague, and whose impact on public service will be felt for many years to come.
But it is not just about these individuals. It is about the countless others who have supported me along the way. The colleagues who have offered their insights and expertise, the friends who have been there for me when I needed them most, the mentors who have guided me on my journey, and the family who have always been my biggest cheerleaders.
