“We signed a deal with a firm we met at the CFO Summit. We have invested around AUD 50,000 in their services and might work together again in the future. It is a very important assignment for us, and we would not have known or worked with them if we had not met at the Summit,” said a Chief Financial Officer, a delegate at the marcus evans CFO Summit in Australia.

What business opportunities did the CFO Summit bring?

The Summit was good for generating potential ideas for business improvement and optimisation, particularly around the finance, IT and risk functions. The Summit was worth my time. I got useful insights and made valuable connections.

Are you working with any of the service providers you met?

Yes, we are working with a firm. I do not think we would have met or worked with them if it was not for the Summit. I knew they existed, but I did not know any individuals there. We have invested around AUD 50,000 in their services and might work together again in the future.

We are also following up with a few other connections from the Summit.

Is it a difficult process to become one of your service providers? If this firm had cold called or emailed, would you have given them the same chance?

We are fairly tough to break into. The services we require need to be of a very high standard, and we usually choose known solutions because this is a highly regulated environment.

I would not have had the chance to meet this firm and find out about their service if we had not met. They are providing a customised service, so I would not have known about it.

How efficient did you find the one-to-one meeting format?

It was very useful. It gave us the opportunity to meet with different people and get various business ideas. It was a good way to meet different people all in one go without having to travel to various locations. It was valuable to network with other CFOs, as well as with companies bringing their offerings.

How did the Summit compare with other industry events?

It was pretty good. It was very professionally put together, with high calibre speakers, CFOs and economists.
