We at SIG: interview with Francisco Bucio in celebration of International Volunteer Day
Francisco Bucio , Pre Print Manager in Mexico, has been actively involved in various community initiatives in Mexico, from supporting foster care homes to restoring rural schools and reforesting nearby areas.
What inspired you to volunteer with foster children and community initiatives?
It started with SIG, volunteering at a foster care home in Mexico City. Spending quality time with the kids showed me how small efforts can create meaningful change.
What has been the most impactful or memorable part of your volunteering experience?
Restoring a rural school with the help of the local community and my SIGer team was unforgettable. Seeing everyone come together for a shared cause reminded me of the power of collaboration.
How has volunteering influenced you personally or professionally?
It’s given me a deeper appreciation for life and a renewed perspective on challenges. Professionally, it reinforced the value of teamwork and taking initiative.
Francisco’s inspiring efforts show how teamwork and dedication can transform communities. He is one of the employees who got involved in our #volunteerforbetter campaign, leading up to International Volunteer Day on December 5th.
Each story reminded us that no effort is too small to make a difference. Whether it’s organizing community meals, teaching underprivileged children, or cleaning up public spaces, our volunteers are the driving force behind positive change.
