Are we ready to learn continuously?
I came across an impactful story which is worth sharing but the not able to credit the author as it was posted under label 'anonymous.....
A little boy once wanted to learn to swim. His parents took him to the local swimming pool and enrolled him with an instructor.
After a few weeks, he had learned the basics of swimming and could perform a few strokes, travelling a few feet before stopping.
His parents very happy but the boy thought that he could still do better and continued his swimming classes and after a few more weeks, he was able to…..
*swim across the little pool that he was learning in
* and after a few more months he was able to swim an entire length of the main pool.
* then complete a few laps of the pool in one effort.
* then entered swimming competitions and eventually won his first race.
* after some time went to the ocean and swam from the beach to a pier a few hundred metres away.
* finally entered an ocean race that was a couple of kilometres in length and won at the first attempt.
His parents were happy long back but he kept looking at the ocean. He wondered what were the limits on which he could achieve and whether he had reached them yet.
He aspired to something greater and set about planning how to achieve it.
Reflection: We are all that little boy with some skill set. However are we ready to work on it continuously or feel that we have reached the limit?
