We showed up with our hands AND our checkbook. In addition to our time, we donate $20,000+ a year to this incredible organization that is 2 miles from our office. Sure, we had a fun morning and we did good work that otherwise would not have been done but we also write checks that enable Kid's Meals to #dogoodwork every day and we're committed to keeping writing those checks through 2020.
Endiem thinks every kid should have healthy food and no child should go hungry. This is why we donate to Kid's Meals monthly and help support their special events. We also donate by doing-- like packing these snack bags. Kid's Meals served over 647,000 meals last year, and we are proud to have helped.
At Endiem, we believe in giving back. And there’s no better way to teach our children to give back than by showing them how it’s done. So, on the Endiem Day of Service, our team (including six of our kids) packed more than 700 snack bags for Kid’s Meals kitchen for delivery to preschool-aged children in our community.
Every day in Houston, 1 in 4 children don’t know when they’ll get their next meal. Kid’s Meals focuses on the kids under six who are ineligible for school-based free meal programs. When school isn't in session, they help these kid's older siblings, too. Food insecurity has a negative impact on children: it contributes to poor performance in school, reduced attention in class, behavioral issues, increased absences, a higher risk of obesity and higher than normal suicidal tendencies.
