We are proud to announce that Methods Analytics are one of the industry partners supporting the University of Bristol, in pioneering the future of AI.
The University is setting up two national AI research hubs to develop key research, expertise, and innovations which will make AI an even more versatile, trustworthy tool, backed by a £21 million investment from UK Research and Innovation's Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
The hubs; AI for Collective Intelligence (AI4CI) and INFORMED-AI, aim to transform AI applications across diverse sectors by advancing research and innovation. AI4CI will focus on leveraging distributed intelligence for better decision-making, while INFORMED-AI will explore the interaction between multiple AI systems for enhanced reliability and security.
Our team will be supporting the AI for Collective Intelligence (AI4CI) hub, working with a wide ranging ecosystem of other industry and academic partners, including Universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Glasgow, and Ulster and University College London (UCL).
Commenting on the announcement, Hub Director Professor Seth Bullock , Toshiba Chair in Data Science at the University of Bristol, said:

“Our Hub's main aim is to put useful AI in the hands of regular people, especially those who might otherwise not benefit from it. Modern AI is driven by huge amounts of data collected from us and Collective Intelligence research is about enabling us to benefit directly from the AI systems that data fuels. We can’t wait to get started.”
This initiative positions University of Bristol and its partners at the forefront of AI research, promising revolutionary advancements that could redefine the landscape of technology and its ethical use, ensuring the UK remains a global leader in AI innovation and application.
Mattia Sanna , our Lead for Data Science and AI, has a PhD in Computational Algebraic Number Theory and with his passion for academic research, led our efforts during the funding application process. He had this to say:
"This initiative highlights how meaningful collaboration between academia and industry will foster innovative AI research, with practical applications. My background in mathematics and data science fuels my commitment to bridging theoretical developments with impactful real-world applications, so I’m personally really excited to be involved and can’t wait to get started. The AI4CI hub presents a unique approach to leveraging our expertise for societal benefit, underlining Methods Analytics’ dedication to responsible and beneficial AI deployment." ?
More to come over the coming week and months, and our thanks again to Professor Bullock and everyone else involved in the success of the bid.
