WE AND OUR WORK - the precious relationship that we share
Often when we work in a given organization/workplace, most of us fall into a trap of thinking which says "We are working for the organization". This eventually leads us to think that we are doing some favor on the workplace. This further makes us believe that we have a choice about how to finish our task, whether to finish it anyhow without a tinge of sincerity or to finish it with excellence with utmost sincerity. Now since we think we have a choice, it ultimately separates us from our work, our creation.
Just like 'samskaaras' fed by parents into their children today, are tomorrow reflected in their personalities and often we hear someone saying "He is HIS/HER son or daughter". This makes us understand that children and their upbringing somewhere do define their parents. Similarly the work we do is our creation, our child. The inputs we give to complete it with excellence are the 'samskaaras' we feed it with. Tomorrow our work will define us, irrespective of the organization we did it for and we will hear people saying "This masterpiece was performed by HIM/HER". Our work defines us.
Tomorrow when we walk out of the current workplace, still our work will remain with us as a part of us. And it will be seen on us as a STAR or as a BLOT. what do we want it to be, is the choice we make about it today.
