Supporting our volunteers

At Chapter One we are constantly looking at ways in which we can support our teams of online reading volunteers and make their experience as rewarding as possible. In addition to our training and library of resources, we recently held live ’Expert View’?training workshops?on Zoom, covering topics such as how to break the ice with your pupil, a deeper dive into phonics and how reading is taught, how to engage shy or reluctant readers and how to challenge and extend more confident readers.

The response we had to these workshops was fantastic and we are now also scheduling regular?monthly Zoom drop-in sessions?for volunteers. This is an opportunity for them to give us feedback, ask any questions about the Chapter One platform and reading with their student — as well as to exchange tips and network with other volunteers.

If you are a Chapter One partner and want to know more about how we can support your volunteers, please contact our Corporate Partnerships Manager?Anna Ansted at [email protected].
