We Need Your Help!

Do you like what we do? Do you think saving this material is important? Then why not help us? We are NOT a bunch of car guys hanging out posting pictures – we are an IRS recognized PUBLIC CHARITY that exists on donations alone. Every single cent that is donated goes into saving and storing these materials.

If the 4,800 people who follow us here gave a measly $5.00 a year, we would not only be solvent, but we could tackle and complete some of the huge document projects that will save hundreds of thousands of pages of material.

Here are some of the tasks at hand for 2017:

• Storing the 38,000 documents that we received this past December. The task of scanning these materials cannot be accomplished unless we have some dollars and cents to store the materials. These documents are contained in over 250 legal size storage boxes. They are not fitting in your closet!
• Acquisition of significant collections of advertisements and brochures. We have targeted over 5,000 items that are in danger of loss. Without the cash to acquire and store these materials, we can see them disappearing.
• The scanning of the above materials. We have arrangements with institutions of higher learning to help us clean and reformat these materials, but funds are needed to bulk scan and then pay student stipends to do the cleanup and uploading work.
• Operating our website. If you go to www.ahpsoc.org you will quickly recognize that this is not a Wordpress application. The system uses SQL to manage the 250,000 pages of data. Each brand, and type of document, is stored in a specific location. This website costs significant money. Many of the upgrades we wish to do on the site have been put off because our donations are only enough to keep it running.
