I recently wrote an article for the website www.workingmums.co.uk about the challenges faced by the spouses of serving military personnel when job hunting. I'm delighted to learn that the article has been read over 5000 times so I was keen to share the details on here too.
In the UK we are missing a trick here, a talent pool with a wealth of transferable skills and an adaptable mind set. Shortly after the link went live I was contacted by an internal recruiter in America keen to showcase the commitment that their firm makes to supporting military spouses - Amazon in particular are running a fantastic initiative.
Here in the UK and through the magic of social media I was put in touch with Heledd Kendrick the CEO and Founder of Recruit for Spouses. A truly inspirational human being and someone who I am looking forward to collaborating with in the future. More on this to follow.
In the meantime, please check out the article via this link: https://www.workingmums.co.uk/should-hr-be-doing-more-to-tap-the-potential-of-military-wives/
If this resonates with you please feel free to share the content and please also check out Heledd's award winning company www.recruitforspouses.co.uk

5 年Great to see growing conversations around this. I think organisations are missing a trick but not doing some targeted campaigns to military spouses and the like. Keep up the hard work Eve.
