When I shared one of my recent videos on the leadership expectations for the Harvard and Stanford MBA programs, the reaction from my email list was instant and loud!
I threw out an idea that if you’re aiming for top-tier programs like HBS or Stanford GSB, focusing too much on academic credentials and test scores can actually backfire.
And wow, did that stir some questions!
"‘What are you saying, Petia, that the test isn’t important?’"
"Or, ‘Can I get into these schools with a score below their average? How much lower is okay?’"
It seems we really need to unpack this a bit more.

9 个月This is spot on! The test score is not a one dimensional metric for the admissions committee. It is important on several levels - many of which are not intuitive to most people going through the application process.
