We need to stop playing Putin's game Time to allow Ukraine to interdict Russian Medieval style scorched earth tactics. Deep strike weapons needed

Technologically speaking, Russia, because of the shut off of US technology to high tech Russian weapon systems is waging a war in Donbass with 20+ year old "dumb bombs", with lots of artillery and of course human wave tactics . The way to stop this meat grinder is to incentivize Putin to back off using the "old technology". Unfortunately that means blowing to kingdom come the supply lines to the Donbass region in Ukraine, an approach which can only be commensurate with 50+ kilometer interdiction strike weapons. The White House is no longer tap dancing on this issue, but all parties to supplying weapons to Ukraine, need to get with it. So long as the supply lines sending "pre smart weapons" to Donbass to kill Ukrainian solders is uninterrupted, the slaughter of up to 100 Ukrainian soldiers due to using scorched Earth tactics will continue. In a word, it is time for the EU, NATO and others to give Ukraine soldiers the means to decisively break supply lines to the Donbass front.

Here is the article as to the meat grinder

Russia Bets on 'Medieval Attrition Approach' as Ukraine Losses Mount

Zelensky: 'Victory Will Be Ours' As Ukraine-Russia War Reaches 100 Days

Russia is using a "medieval attrition approach" in Ukraine, as Ukrainian forces face heavy casualties, according to a former U.S. general.

Retired Lieutenant General Ben Hodges told the Associated Press in an interview published Saturday that the losses in Ukraine would continue until the country receives additional weapons from the West.

"This battlefield is so much more lethal than what we all became accustomed to over the 20 years of Iraq and Afghanistan, where we didn't have numbers like this," Hodges, who formerly commanded U.S. Army forces in Europe, told the news outlet. "That level of attrition would include leaders, sergeants."

"They are a lot of the brunt of casualties because they are the more exposed, constantly moving around trying to do things," he added.

In recent weeks, Russia has?focused its offensive?on Ukraine's eastern Donbas region after being defeated north of Kyiv, the country's capital.

In an interview with?Newsmax?earlier this week, Ukrainian President?Volodymyr Zelensky?said that the "most difficult situation" in the war is "in the east of Ukraine and southern Donetsk and Luhansk."

"The situation is very difficult; we're losing 60-100 soldiers per day as killed in action and something around 500 people as wounded in action. So we are holding our defensive perimeters," he stated.

General Viktor Muzhenko, who previously served as chief of general staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, told the AP that the Russia-Ukraine war is "the most significant conflict in Europe since World War II."

"That explains why the losses are so great. In order to reduce losses, Ukraine now needs powerful weapons that match or even surpass Russian weaponry. This would enable Ukraine to respond in kind," Muzhenko said.

White House Announces More Military Aid for Ukraine

On Tuesday, the White House announced a new?$700 million package of Ukrainian military assistance?that includes rocket systems. The package came after Ukrainian officials had?requested long-range rockets?to help slow the Russian offensive in Eastern Ukraine.

In a piece he wrote in?The?New York Times?this week, President?Joe Biden?detailed his decision to provide the weapons.

"We have moved quickly to send Ukraine a significant amount of weaponry and ammunition so it can fight on the battlefield and be in the strongest possible position at the negotiating table," the president wrote. "That's why I've decided that we will provide the Ukrainians with more advanced rocket systems and munitions that will enable them to more precisely strike key targets on the battlefield in Ukraine."

Summing up:

Doing this weapon interdiction of dumb bomb technology to the Donbass battlefield will lead to mega screaming on the part of the Kremlin. In a word, NATO , EU and the USA, it is time to grow a spine, and to stop taking the bait. As to Putin threatening use of tactical nuclear weapons, the longer the pseudo stalemate in Donbass continues, the GREATER the chance of eventual use of Tactical nukes, by a desperate Russia. It may seem counter intuitive to a few out there, but the entire game of "de escalation by use of tactical nukes" on the part of Russia is a way to engender a forced upon participants "?prisoner's?dilemma " head fake. A prisoner's dilemma is?a situation where individual?decision-makers?always have an incentive to choose in a way that creates a less than optimal outcome for the individuals as a group. The prisoner's dilemmas occur in many aspects of the economy. Well we are seeing it, in the head fake of controlled "de escalation" by threats of tactical nukes.

Note, defeatists will say the only situation is to Surrender to Putin,. Again, stop taking the bait.
