We need to stop the damage and start the repair

Let’s do it right (now)
Opening up the newspaper every day shows qualitative evidence of human-caused climate change: there are countless examples of extreme weather and climate catastrophes in every single country around the world. The IPCC report (AR6) is just another affirmation of the? climate action we need to undertake now to avoid ecological collapse.?
The science is clear: the latest report from the IPCC just hammers home the fact that human action has warmed the climate at an unprecedented rate.
We need to stop the damage and start the repair. The steps to take for climate action are also clear:
Restoration is for the local communities and the biodiversity they depend on
The large-scale biodiversity restoration the IPCC report proves we so desperately need to undertake must be driven by a bottom-up movement, empowered by local action across the globe.
We have to restore local biodiversity - and we have to work to make sure that restoration is both fair and sustainable. Ecosystem restoration has to be ecologically and socially responsible. It has to take into account local ecology, because without this local understanding, restoration activities can be ineffective or damaging. That’s why it is critical to work with local communities to find the innovations that make nature an economically viable option in the long term.?
Science shows us that there is a problem - but science also shows us the solution. Now is the time that we need to work together to support the restoration movement, the heroes on the ground who are protecting and restoring the environment every single day, and solutions like Restor. It’s our obligation to support this work. And it’s going to take all of us: whether we’re scientists, leaders, policymakers, students, or a part of the business sector. Now is the time to change the way we’re doing business, to respond to the needs of our planet.
If we do this right - if we make immediate, rapid and widespread cuts in emissions, and if we change our relationship to the natural world that sustains us - warming could be limited to 1.5 degrees, with the climate stabilizing after the middle of the century.
So let’s do it. Right now.?
