We need Pride now more than ever

We can all make a difference in GTA communities by promoting safety, dignity and respect for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals. By uniting in solidarity, we can express our love, understanding and acceptance for all. We can provide a safe space for people to be their true selves.

Uniting in solidarity with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities is a powerful way to fight hate and ensure safety for those who are targeted and mistreated for their identity. They are our family, our friends, our colleagues and neighbours.

Sadly, there are those who would dismantle our progress toward inclusion and belonging.

During the AIDS epidemic, I witnessed the hate, discrimination and fear towards gay community members that darkened our lives during that time.

We must focus on love.

For all of us to shine bright and reach our potential, we need less judgment and more empathy. We need less fear and more kindness. We need to allow people to live and love without the heavy burdens of bias and discrimination.

We proudly stand in solidarity with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and believe that everyone deserves kindness and respect. There is no place for hate or divisiveness in our communities.
