"We need a new map": How to lead teams out of Lockdown
When the old order dissolves into chaos, the old maps are useless. How do you start making a new map for your business? These notes are from today's webinar:
Harvard Business School has an excellent Covid Business Impact site, which is where I found this insight on the importance of TRUST for your brand:
ForesightFactory’s take on consumer trends (inc presence-free, latch key and self-reliant) are contained in this document.
There are some interesting reflections on “the art of the pivot” in this research paper.
And there are some very practical tips on leading in a VUCA world in this Deloitte’s article. It was written pre-Covid, but the lessons hold, such as: “Continuous change often requires fast decisions. Establishing clear lines of approval and setting thresholds for when a decision needs to be escalated can shorten the time to action. “
Virtual Summit & Online Event Organizer | Zoom Wizard ??♂? at Gathering Success
4 年Excellent webinar today Steve. Thank you. Lots to think about. ? The NatWest example of branch staff making videos to answer pressing customer concerns + the stats on who we trust were interesting. Great evidence of the what's emerging. ? I'm seeing demand for online "events" where the organization's own staff/real experts are there to be with and serve their customers. Nobody wants the smooth "on message" merchants. ? We can all learn from each other. It's not a one-way flow. It's a conversation. ? And not just over a quick Zoom call or a short webinar, but over a day or so. ? When we gather like this, with purpose, the real concerns and challenges come out. And together we can work on solving them - and in the process create trust, find solutions, give hope. ? I first saw this emerge in a global event I put on for Endometriosis Awareness Weekend (I was shocked 1 in 10 women suffer with this). ? We had pioneering surgeons, doctors, brave EndoSisters and charitable groups from all over the world all connecting, sharing stories, ideas, and making plans...all sat on one big global sofa in the various lounges inside the event. It was very emotional and has started a ripple.
