We need more developers

We need more developers

A simple search on LinkedIn shows the discrepancy:

Maybe my network is not large enough (there are only 1'162 connections after all) but it gives an idea of the difference in available resources to create new products based on Ethereum.

We probably need a few more MOOCs and other training material or simply even more buzz than we have today.

Hopefully this article will convince a few more developers to learn solidity and join the community.

MIcha I do agree with you, and also I do believe that it will be increased in this and next year, as soon as we have more and more involved in blockchain, in my case I am studying Solidity in order to create a PoC to use Ethereum and as much collaborative would be the community will be a win 2 win game.

Micha, your keen and accurate observation could not be more timely :) I totally agree. To address the need and skills gap I am producing and conducting a 2 day intense hands-on blockchain development technology workshop in Austin for Enterprise IT developers, independent software engineers, and others with software engineering and coding skills. I am targeting a Sat & Sun. in Sept. in Austin. Here are some of the topics I am working with and want to include in the workshop 2-day hyper-sprint: start with the basics, cryptocurrency (Bitcoin and Altcoin), public blockchains (Ethereum and others), private and consortium blockchains (Hyperledger Fabric 1.0 and others), Cryptocurrency Exchanges, APIs, Wallets, Smart Contracts (Solidity) & Chaincode (Java and GO), Tokens (ERC20), Tokenization, benchmarking blockchain performance, public and enterprise DApps, cryptography basics and APIs, blockchain integration into legacy and web 2.0 apps (turning web apps into DApps and using NoSQL and RDBMS, microservices, containers, cloud, and Lambda design patterns), and Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) techniques for blockchain components. The focus of the workshop is to provide the attendees with enough basic technical knowledge and starter development skills, so they can go back to their companies or startups and begin designing and developing blockchain solutions for their Enterprise or startup. As well as cross-train those they work with :) Seating will be limited to achieve a good student teacher ratio, so the students receive quality time and networking opportunities with other students and the instructor--your truly :) I will post the workshop details and market-based workshop fee on LinkedIn, once I secure my venue, and finalize the workshop outline (hopefully next week). If interested in attending shoot me an email ([email protected]), so I can make sure you get an opportunity to secure your seat :) -Mark
