LinkedIn just announced an amazing new and FREE tool for marketers: Linkedin Website Demographics! They are just starting the roll out - so make sure to check your Campaign Manager in your Ads account to see if you have it or not.
Think of it as Who's Viewed Your Profile - for your Website!
After you add the LinkedIn Insights Tab (code snippet) to your website, it will start tracking specific demographics like:
- Job title
- Industry
- Job seniority
- Job function
- Company
- Company size
- Location
- Country
Why is this so cool? Well, you're probably already tracking your web traffic - but it is probably NOT giving the detailed information that this new feature will.
Think about it! You can now see if you are attracting the right audience to your website. And you might even discover new audiences that you can create content, products and services for!
Here's what LinkedIn has to say:
"LinkedIn Website Demographics is a major leap forward in helping you make more informed marketing decisions to grow your business. With the ability to gather insights before, during or after campaigns, you can improve your strategy and make smarter marketing decisions."
How do you get it?
- Access your unique LinkedIn Insight Tag JavaScript code.
- Sign in to Campaign Manager.
- Click your account name to access the account page.
- Move your cursor over Tools in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Select Insight Tag.
- Copy the entire Insight Tag code from the window.
- Add the JavaScript code to every page on your domain, preferably right before the end of the <body> tag in the global footer.
- Add your domain(s) on the Configuration page.

6 年Hi Viveka, having looked at the website demographics option, it appears that the analytics only display once your website has received 300 unique LinkedIn visitors. Realistically, this seems to be an option for larger marketers, rather than smaller businesses, do you agree?
