NEC HQ Joined The Annual Tokyo Rainbow Pride Event

NEC was proud to join Tokyo Rainbow Pride this year! Tokyo Rainbow Pride is a week-long festival that takes place at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo, Japan. The festival celebrates diversity, gender, and lifestyle, and aims to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues.

At the NEC booth, we received many messages from the attendees! The Smile Game, a game in which the degree to which participants smile is calculated using the NEC Group's face recognition technology, surely brought out the participants’ smiles.

On the final day, NEC Group employees wore a special rainbow-colored logo T-shirt and walked the parade with their partners, family members, and friends.

NEC Singapore recently hosted the SPARK Green Innovation Challenge, uniting teams to tackle plastic pollution through innovative solutions.

Teams engaged in collaborative discussions, exploring ideas such as recycling plastic into art, dedicating work hours to eco-friendly practices, and developing apps to partner with local restaurants to promote sustainable diets and reduce plastic waste. These proposals underscore NEC’s commitment to sustainability and pave the way for future eco-friendly initiatives.

Promoting Mental Health: TGIF Cycling & National Health Group (NHG) Resilience Workshop

At NEC Singapore, we’re dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of our employees through diverse initiatives. Recently, our TGIF Cycling Club, led by Norman Tahar, organized its inaugural cycling session. A group of enthusiastic cyclists set off from the iconic Singapore Flyer, embarking on a scenic 29-kilometer journey to East Coast Park. The ride concluded with a delightful feast at the East Coast Lagoon Food Village, providing not only physical exercise but also a sense of camaraderie and relaxation.

Complementing this, we partnered with experts from NHG to host a workshop on tackling burnout and building resilience. Employees gained valuable insights and practical strategies to manage stress and enhance their mental well-being. These initiatives reflect our commitment to fostering a healthy work environment, promoting both physical activity and mental resilience as key components of overall wellness.

NEC Europe ( NEC Europe )

NEC Europe Celebrates Summer with Annual Barbecue

At NEC Europe, the annual summer BBQ was a resounding success, celebrating our teamwork and commitment towards Diversity and Inclusion in support for Pride Month in June.

We began the day with an engaging self- defense session, where our team members stepped out of their comfort zones, learned valuable skills and tips, and bonded over this experience. As the day went on, colleagues enjoyed delicious BBQ food, desserts, and refreshing drinks. Spirits were high as everyone mingled, laughed, and created happy memories together while enjoying fun games and activities.

We also had a pleasure celebrating a significant milestone of our long standing employee Henock Kefelegn’s 25th anniversary at NEC Europe. His dedication and contributions were acknowledged with a speech followed by a heartfelt applause.

To add a festive touch, we also provided Pride themed goodies and enjoyed a delicious Pride cake. It was a memorable evening that strengthened our team bonds!

NEC Vietnam ( NEC Vietnam )

NEC Vietnam Donates Blood: Passionate About Giving Back to Society

Demonstrating our passion for giving back to society, NEC Vietnam employees kicked off June with a meaningful activity: participating in the Voluntary Blood Donation program organized by REE Group and the Ho Chi Minh City Humanitarian Blood Donation Center.

NEC Vietnam’s dedicated team members woke up early and joined hands to share their precious blood, bringing faith, hope, and opportunities to those in need.

While it may be a small charity activity, its impact is profound, contributing to a more positive and loving society. The spirit of "mutual love" is always preserved and strongly promoted by the NEC Vietnam team.

Together, let’s spread more positivity!

NEC XON ( NEC XON )

NEC XON Hosts Ultimate Braai Master Cooking Competition

NEC XON hosted a cooking competition this past June. The idea was taken from a South Africa television cooking competition, the series has won multiple SAFTAs with additional nominations, and 2017 numbers indicated The Ultimate Braai Master was the most popular cooking show in South Africa.

We, therefore, emulated this cooking show with our mix, with the sole idea for team members to get to know each other better working together on a common goal, this activity is great for building camaraderie and team spirit.

Braaibroodjie, or "braai bread," is a South African grilled cheese, and this version stacks cheddar, tomato, onions, and chutney. It is a highlight of many braais, this recipe is the traditional way to build a Braaibroodjie, and is loved and enjoyed by many South Africans. Everyone made an effort to dress accordingly in the spirit of camaraderie and team building effort.

The theme was based more on our 30-year democracy as a nation and as a remembrance of our diverse culture, unity, different racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Wow, this is so cool. It's great to see what NEC employees are doing around the world! #NECWay
