As we move ahead in my journey (1/6)

While on Wednesday I was thinking deep and wrote about Who am I, with a promise to write more about it in subsequent articles, I have decided to write on each of the 6 points that I have drawn from my life. Never know more details can come as I write and think deeper.

1.???Marks do not matter; the knowledge does matter.

2.???Experiment, it is okay to fail.

3.???Spirituality is about questioning deep to understand the creation.

4.???Live it to know it.

5.???Shape your carrier with the best possible people.

6.???Life teaches us many things. Let us bring it all together and live a better life.

Point 1: Marks do not matter; the knowledge does matter.

In a class there were about 45 students and some bright and some not so bright and some mediocre. ?Amongst them some scored highest of the marks and a few not so exciting marks. But all have made something big of themselves. Big enough in the scale that they wished to measure themselves.

?The brilliance of these students was not in their report card, it was in their ability to think. Think deep and deeper about the subject, about the society, about this world where we live. The opportunities that knocked their way and the discipline inculcated in the family.

If Marks were the measure to success, then the marks of great people in the world like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, JRD Tata, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates etc. would have been in our text books. Were these greats the toppers in their classes?

These people had the instinct of drawing ample amount of knowledge from Reading, observing, experimenting, listening to stories (Movies, drama and conversations) and much more.

In schools the teaching was only one format, Read the chapter and explain it once without realizing how many students in the class understood what was told in the class.

Today’s teachers are making an extra effort to understand physiology of students but then again, it’s not easy to divide 45 students into 3 or 4 groups. They are all 45 different groups of people.

While I am good at logic, I want to find my own way to reach a solution and not copy what some one has told. This has led to me to extract knowledge from many sources. My Father, uncle, friends, teachers, neighbors, colleagues and bosses. We keep learning from all of them and we will continue to learn from everyone around us.

I am some one who believes in learning from every thing around, People with whom we interact irrespective of the other persons job & Designation, observing in the nearby super market I have been or how the Electricity board is issuing bills on the spot. ?The secret formula that the priest is showing us in the temple in his prayers from time to time and much more.

Chase Knowledge and keep chasing it till your breath lasts.
