We all find ourselves in uncharted territory, and having already faced some tough business decisions, we know that many extreme challenges still lie ahead.
NeueHouse was founded on a belief in the most innate human desire to share space and share ideas, and in doing so we were able to cultivate a creative community and to commit ourselves each day as a team to support and foster the needs of our members and their creative endeavors. It’s at a time like this therefore when we must show our vulnerability and encourage transparency as brand leaders.
Now and since March 16th, we are closed until it is clear that it is safe and morally responsible to re-open. But like every global hospitality business, we have had to make tough decisions to minimize the impact on NeueHouse, for the sake of its successful future.
We remain a relatively small creative company and invested all of our capital into our exciting expansion plans as well as enhancing member experience these past 18 months since I joined as CEO. So, it is with a deep sadness that we also find ourselves in a position where we need to furlough the majority of our staff during this closure so that we can reopen again once the curve is flattened.
To our community and colleagues, we’re apart right now, but we’re by your side, and have been working around-the-clock to do what we can to help our members and staff, as our moral obligation is first and foremost to those two groups. As such we are announcing the following steps:
- The NeueHouse employee relief fund to support our much-loved, furloughed staff: Support Our Team
- Providing full healthcare for our enrolled staff while furloughed
- Waiving membership fees to support our members, their companies and their teams, and
- Reducing and foregoing salaries (including my own) for our small remaining team.
We are the Home of the New – and our devotion to being that “Home”, demands that we embrace this new time as an opportunity to develop new beliefs, new perspectives, and a new sense of collective hope that will empower our community to come through this with renewed optimism.
Adhering to our core beliefs in these tragic times, we are deeply committed to find innovative solutions to help NeueHouse re-open. We are dreaming of that day that we can once again stand side-by-side with our incredible team, members and partners to create our next chapter.

4 年Thanks Josh! Have been missing the fam at Neuehouse a lot recently, and getting back into the job hunt was considering seeking a return to work there, then Rona shook everything up. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, and definitely looking forward to coming in for a relief cocktail to visit friends once this is over.
