We love Canva. Here's Why.

As a branding and marketing agency, we love Canva. We know we'll be met with lots of mixed reactions (and raised eyebrows most likely), especially because we are heavily involved in branding and graphic design (Ashleigh Allan is the magic maker on this, hands down!), so the natural inclination should be towards a more heavy duty software like Adobe's Creative Suite - and largely it is. We love Adobe, but Canva is powerful too - and has a definite place in our product offering.

Our top of mind reasons are:

  • It’s easy to use, and easy to teach
  • It allows us to create and import high quality designs that are accessible and editable by people who aren’t designers
  • It allows us to empower our clients to build their brand awareness in a consistent and professional manner
  • You can save your brand style elements including logos, colours and fonts so you always come across consistent
  • It allows the easy sharing of designs across teams, companies and countries

Plus, Canva is one of the most generous design tools to offer heaps of amazing free features. Not only is it clever, it’s incredibly effective!

When we hand assets over to our clients, we always encourage them to create their free (or paid) Canva accounts, so they can put their assets together when they need something quickly.

What it comes down to, in our eyes, is whether or not you have a strong brand and brand strategy. If you are clear on your business’ approach, voice, aesthetic, goals - then Canva is the perfect tool to amplify those messages and communicate your business in the best way. We never recommend a brand project without a solid strategy - it can take time, but it is always worth it to be crystal clear on who you are as a brand before you start!
